Expansive views of the Golan Heights and Sea of Galilee spill into the distance from the wide veranda of the Hotel Spa Mizpe Hayamim. Nestled into 15 hectares of organic farmland and orchards near Rosh Pina in Israel’s Golan region, this Eden-like property specializes in relaxation and rejuvenation. Details include an interior hanging garden, wooden door handles shaped like fish, and peacocks that stroll serenely throughout the gardens.
Originally an estate built by Eric Yaros, a German-born physician and homeopathic doctor who established it as a vegetarian health retreat, the property produces its own herbs, oils, cheeses, jams and breads. Resident cows and chickens provide fresh milk and eggs to the hotel’s two restaurants, while fruits, herbs and oils are used in both the kitchen and spa.
