Popular Asia Pacific travel search site Wego.com is advising travellers to visit seven off-the-grid destinations in Asia for authentic and one-of-a-kind experiences.

Hang Son Doong Cave, Vietnam, is Wego.com’s first recommended destination, for its remoteness. The large cave system was formed in the Annamite Mountains millions of years ago. Located in Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park, more individuals have climbed Mount Everest than explored Hang Son Doong Cave.

Hsipaw, Myanmar, is reachable by train and is the setting of an ancient royal city. The destination is perfect for active travellers looking for a hike.

Hoh Xil, Tibet, is the third-least populated region on Earth. It’s only been open to tourists in recent years. The dramatic landscapes are home to 230 strange and endangered species.

Hainan, China, is often called the Hawai’i of China. Travellers will find plenty of relaxing South China Sea beaches and streets filled with shops and eateries. Away from the shoreline lie rainforests and ancient villages.

Wego.com recommends three destinations in India — Rann of Kutch, Doodhpathri and Patan. Rann of Kutch is near the border of Pakistan and home to the largest salt desert. Attend the annual Rann Utsav, an exotic and fun festival. Doodhpathri, right off the Himalayas, is a pastoral getaway filled with traditional farming and the perfect camping spots. Patan is the location of ancient cities and UNESCO World Heritage sites.
