When Americans look to travel overseas, more and more look to Norwegian to ferry them across the Atlantic.
In 2018, Norwegian took the mantle of largest non-North American airline serving New York with 2,004,896 passengers. The airline took the crown from British Airways and managed to fend off all other competitors.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey reported a record-breaking year overall, with more than 50 million international passengers coming through the region in 2018. The Port Authority collects information from nearby airports, including Newark Liberty International, John F. Kennedy International, LaGuardia, Stewart International, Teterboro and other regional airports. Norwegian was just 50,000 passengers short of overtaking Air Canada as the leading international airline serving the city.
Norwegian Airlines serves 13 European destinations from the three major New York airports and serves 55 non-stop routes to Europe from the United States.
