Orlando ranked as the most visited tourist destination in the United States last year, bringing in 62.3 million people — a 5.1 percent increase from the previous year. As of July of this year, the iconic vacation destination boasts more than 118,000 hotel rooms spread across seven unique submarkets in the Metro Orlando hotel market: Orlando North, Central, South, International Drive, Lake Buena Vista and Kissimmee East and West. With close proximity to Orlando’s most popular attractions, the Lake Buena Vista and International Drive submarkets account for 64 percent of the city’s room inventory. Driving destination growth is Orlando International Airport, which handled more than 35 million travelers last year and will continue to grow with new service from Norwegian Air, LAN and Emirates.
