Emerald Waterways, the first new European river cruise company to set sail in more than six years, debuts next spring with a roster of eight- to 15-day itineraries.
With the new custom-built ships offering such amenities as a heated swimming pool and a movie theater, Emerald Waterways caters to both experienced travelers and the younger crowd looking for strong value. Fares start at $2,230 per person, double occupancy.
Each of the new ships, Emerald Star and Emerald Sky, accommodates 182 guests in 20 staterooms and 72 suites. The ships boast an innovative cabin design that replaces the common French balcony with an indoor balcony complete with a deck and unique push-button system that drops the upper half of the floor-to-ceiling window.
Fares include transfers to and from the ships; all onboard (and most on-shore) meals, a choice of two dining venues, WiFi onboard the ship, at least one included shore excursion almost every cruise day and visits to many UNESCO World Heritage sites. Guests also enjoy complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks with lunch and dinner.
Itineraries include Danube Delights, Classic Prague & Danube Delights, Magical Rhine & Moselle and Splendors of Europe.
