New dining is on the way in early 2016, with the addition of Kresios to the swish Mercer Hotel Barcelona. Michelin-starred Chef Giuseppe Iannotti of Benevento, Italy, will head up the kitchen. The dining room, with a distinctly Roman-era ambience, was designed by architect Rafael Moneo. Columns, arches, stone and a terrace filled with orange trees provides an inviting atmosphere for enjoying tea, light lunches and gourmet meals.
Located centrally in the city’s Gothic Quarter, Mercer Hotel Barcelona has 28 elegant contemporary rooms and suites in a collection of buildings, plus a rooftop patio with exceptional views. Many rooms have gorgeous original elements including stone walls that reflect the building’s history and its location atop the walls of the ancient Roman city. Hotel staff is happy to arrange themed stays ranging from gourmet to romance, or built around local culture with touches such as a private Vespa.
