European travel group Tui is in the process of taking over cruise and travel group Thomson. The change will bring new ships and services to Tui while still allowing Thomson to retain its branding. The newest change will be the addition of the new Tui Discovery ship, which will be the first under the brand to offer all-inclusive drink packages and cruises to Cayo St. Maria, Cuba; St. Lucia; and Sardinia. New itineraries from Thomson are now on sale for summer 2017 sailings. Executives hope the change will bring more European attention to the brands. “Summer 2017 is our biggest program ever and will offer customers even more choice for their holidays,” said Mark Hall, product director, Thomson. “We’re pleased to introduce the stunning island of Cayo St. Maria in Cuba and, closer to home, the beautiful beaches of the Olbia region in Sardinia to our line up for next year.”
