A restored 14th-century stone palazzo in Puglia’s White City, Italy, recently opened as a luxury hotel. Vista Ostuni features 28 spacious rooms and suites, each showcasing Apulian hospitality.

The building was originally a convent before converting into a tobacco-processing factory. Since then, RMA Studio and Roberto Murgia have breathed life into the historic property through a visionary restoration of nearly 20,000 square feet of historic interiors. Restorations to the grand entrance, lofty ceilings and cloister involved the construction of a glass ceiling to allow natural light to flood the space.

In addition to elegant accommodations, Vista Ostuni is also now home to an expansive, year-round spa with treatments and products from Biologique Recherche. A tranquil indoor pool and fully equipped fitness area also grace the wellness space. Guests are invited to bask in the sun by the rooftop infinity pool year-round. The pool, set among Mediterranean olive groves, means guests continually enjoy aromatic herbs and the scent of fruit trees.

Michelin-starred chef Andrea Berton dreams up a thoughtfully curated menu at on-site restaurant Berton al Vista, carefully showcasing the region’s high-quality ingredients. Bianca Bistrot is the hotel’s new all-day, garden-pool setting eatery, serving breakfast, aperitivos and dinner. For relaxed conversation and cocktails, guests can choose between Chiostro Bar or the scenic infinity pool rooftop bar.
There’s even a 3-hectare garden at the hotel, designed by Erik Dhont, to celebrate the Apulian Mediterranean landscape. The garden encompasses a courtyard framed by ancient olive and carob trees, as well as palms, citrus plants and a traditional fountain.
