Holland America Line  is preparing to launch the ms Koningsdam, a new passenger cruise ship that will offer journeys through Scandinavia, the Mediterranean Sea and the Caribbean Sea. The luxurious and modern vessel will have a capacity of 2,650 guests as well as a Music Walk with three very different music venues (including the B.B. King Blues Club, a live classical music hall and a DJ-inspired dance club), bars featuring celebrity mixologists, a New York pizza bar and a Lido buffet.

The ship’s Culinary Arts Center will invite passengers to take part in cooking demonstrations, cooking classes and meet-and-greets with celebrity chefs. Have a relaxing coffee in the The New York Times-sponsored Explorations Café where books, travel guides and daily crossword puzzles can keep minds busy for hours. The design of the ship was inspired by the waves and flow of music and focuses on the maximum amount of natural light, open spaces and clean curves. The new ship will receive its official name at a scheduled naming ceremony on May 20 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
