Jan Luyken Amsterdam officially opens following a multimillion-dollar refurbishment. The boutique townhouse hotel, originally built as three residential houses in 1899, sits in the iconic Museum district.
Amsterdam-based interior design studio Nicemakers revamped the interiors of the ground-floor communal spaces to complement the vintage and contemporary designs found throughout the rest of the property. The ground floor mimics a private home, with hand-sourced vintage and modern pieces from the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy. In the center of the townhouse is the library, overlooking a private house garden for guests to relax al fresco. A large selection of art books lines the library shelves as an homage to the nearby Rijksmuseum.

The open-plan kitchen features handmade tiles, a sharing table and nook, with daily breakfast offerings including a selection of the best seasonal produce and artisanal pastries. Snacks and refreshments, like coffee, tea, juices and self-serve drinks (including a selection of house red and white wine and local bottled beer), are also available. Ready-to-serve cocktails by Craftails also await.

Jan Luyken Amsterdam also boasts a home gym filled with an array of machines. Bedrooms embrace warm and vibrant tones with soft furnishings made in Amsterdam from Elle La and Bonnie Barlag. CODAGE amenities, fluffy robes and drip coffeemakers add to the indulgent amenities within each room.
