Meeting attendees visiting Macau are provided a unique opportunity to engage with and give back to the local community with Banyan Tree’s new Meeting For Good program.

The service was created in order to respond to new market trends showing sustainable policies and procedures have some or a great deal of influence on the hotel choices of 73 percent of meeting planners. Resorts around the world offer groups opportunities to make a difference at both work events and in the destinations they visit with activities like tree planting, beach cleaning, cooking local dishes for the elderly and giving language classes to school children.

Banyan Tree Macau partnered with Fujong Society of Macau to create a socially responsible service for the local community. The partnership allows group delegates to tour and provide lunch to mentally handicapped individuals supported by the non-profit Fujong Society.

Launched in 2003, the organization provides mild and moderate mentally handicapped people with occupational skills development and training as well as employment services with the aim of helping them realize their potential and important part in society. Services include training on life interactive patterns, mental health education to the greater community and outreaching services.

The Meet For Good special is available for a minimum of 30 delegates and priced at $100 per person, including a full meeting setup, round-trip transportation to the center and a tour of the workshop. Nightly rates at Banyan Tree Macau start from $325.
