MGM Resorts International completed one of the nation’s largest rooftop solar arrays last month. Located atop the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, the array is made up of more than 26,000 photovoltaic panels, supplying 25 percent of the power needed for the entirety of Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

MGM Resorts projects the solar installation should eliminate approximately 8,400 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year, or the equivalent of 1,700 automobiles. Electricity produced is equivalent to the energy needed to power 1,340 homes. The project further increases pricing stability at MGM Resorts, while reducing draw on the southern Nevada grid.
