A new Meliá property, Meliá Koh Samui, is now open on Thailand’s second-largest island, and on Choeng Mon Beach. The new property features suites made from teak wood vessels and a river-like lagoon pool that loops the grounds.

The new 159-room, 41-suite property is Meliá’s first in Thailand. The hotel debuted in January and includes two exclusive restaurants, an executive lounge, fitness center, ballroom and a kids club, outdoor playground and small water park for families. The resort is just 15 minutes from Samui International Airport, making for an easy commute.

One of the resort’s most unique features is the inclusion of boat suites. These two-story boats are more than 100 years old and feature sea views, garden views or direct pool access.

Displaying true elegance, the property’s deluxe rooms include a standalone bathtub on private balconies.

For dining, the property offers Breeza Beach Restaurant and Bar. Some of the restaurant’s signature dishes include Hokkaido scallop with chorizo, raisin salsa and ajo blanco and Wagyu beef with black garlic, parsnip puree and por wine reduction.
