Located on Passeig de Gràcia, one of Barcelona’s most prestigious streets, Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona has maintained its reputation as a 5-star icon for more than a century. Prominently positioned in the heart of this dynamic city, this luxury hotel blends timeless grandeur with contemporary elegance, boasting a rich history, celebrity clientele and top-notch amenities.
The Majestic is home to a variety of indulgent rooms and suites. Be sure to reserve one with French doors opening to a private balcony overlooking Passeig de Gràcia. This famous boulevard is home to some of the city’s best shopping and most iconic landmarks, including Gaudí’s architectural masterpieces Casa Batlló and Casa Milà, both within walking distance of the hotel.
Inside rooms, expect high ceilings, plush bedding and marble bathrooms creating a sense of opulence, while large windows invite the city into the experience (when desired). Don’t forget to enjoy morning coffee on the balcony as Barcelona wakes up below.
The hotel’s flagship restaurant, SOLC, is a farm-to-table concept celebrating Catalan tradition with contemporary tastes. Using ingredients sourced from the hotel’s own garden and local producers, the menu changes seasonally and includes dishes like sea bream with roasted cauliflower puree, lacquered lamb shoulder and red prawn croquettes to start. Opt for the five-course tasting menu with wine pairings for the fullest experience.
Even if you’re not a buffet fan, the breakfast spread at the Majestic is an experience to savor at least once. Once the winner of Best Hotel Breakfast in Europe, the diverse offerings of top-tier ingredients, light-filled ambiance, show cooking and tantalizing displays are far from the norm.
Lastly, don’t miss the rooftop terrace, La Dolce Vitae, for panoramic views of Barcelona’s skyline, with landmarks like La Sagrada Família and Montjuïc visible in the distance. You can certainly soak up the sun by the pool seasonally, but it’s also a prime location for evening cocktails as the city lights come to life year-round. The entertainment hub of the hotel, this outdoor venue is also the most modern space, offering a sleek contrast to the classic elegance of the hotel’s interior.
Also on the hotel’s top floor, Majestic Spa is a serene city escape of minimalist design, calming scents and soft lighting designed to leave the bustle of Barcelona behind. Choose from a variety of services from facials and beauty to massages and body treatments using premium products from Natura Bissé. Downstairs, a separate wellness area includes both a heated lap pool and a hydromassage pool with jetted relaxation beds and neck waterfall, plus a secluded relaxation room with loungers.
The Majestic Hotel’s prime location on Passeig de Gràcia puts you within quick reach of some of the city’s top attractions. A short stroll down the boulevard takes you to Plaça de Catalunya, the city’s central square. For art and architecture, the hotel is near several of Barcelona’s most famous landmarks, including Gaudí’s La Sagrada Família, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most recognizable symbols of the city. Passeig de Gràcia is home to an array of high-end boutiques, luxury brands and local designers, including flagship stores from many international fashion houses. And for dining beyond the hotel, the nearby options are endless. From Michelin-starred restaurants like Lasarte and Cinc Sentits to top local tapas bars such as Cervecería Catalana, there’s no shortage of memorable choices within a short drive, or even walk. The current The World’s 50 Best Bars champion Sips also lies within a 15-minute walk.
