A grand-opening celebration kicks off the action when the new Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport opens Sept. 18.
The new terminal is considered the crown jewel in phase one of a $4.1 billion capital improvements program, the largest public works project in the history of Los Angeles. It features more than 60 premier dining and luxury retail shops and one of the most advanced multimedia integrated environmental media systems at a North American airport.
LAWA also completed a $737 million renovation of TBIT that upgraded the facility with a new in-line baggage screening system and interior improvements to enhance service and convenience for both passengers and tenants. The TBIT renovation incorporated sustainable design and construction guidelines developed by LAWA and the facility is more energy efficient and environmentally friendly as a result.
