Gin lovers now have a new reason to fly across the pond to the United Kingdom, aside from visiting the birthplace of the esteemed liquor. Since December 2016, London has operated The Distillery, an entire hotel dedicated to gin. Located in the posh neighborhood of Notting Hill, The Distillery features a tasting room on the ground floor where gin samples are served from barrels that hang from the ceiling.

The gin journey continues on the second floor where Spanish-inspired GinTonica bar and restaurant serves the classic concoction with orange peel, lavender or cocoa in the traditional Copa de Balón glass.

For guests interested in learning about the beverages while enjoying them, the hotel will also feature a Ginstitute, a sort-of visitor’s center where visitors can brush up on the history of gin and mix a few of their own cocktails.

The gin craze has certainly caught on not only in the U.K., but also in other countries. London’s Gatwick Airport even opened its own gin distillery inside the airport terminal.
