It’s still more than six months until October, but tickets for the Lincoln Center’s Great Performers series go fast. This year marks the series’ 50th Season, opening on Oct. 14, 15 and 17 with a three-concert survey of Franz Schubert’s complete song cycles, sung by tenor Mark Padmore with accompaniment by pianist Paul Lewis. There will also be two performances by the London Symphony Orchestra led by Valery Gergliev in his last New York appearances as chief conductor. Both performances will feature pianist Yerfim Bronfman.

Other highlights include the U.S. debut of Anima Eterna Brugge and the first Lincoln Center appearance by Accademia Bizantina. The Emerson String Quartet will perform three spring concerts, while Christine Brewer and Paul Jacobs will offer a Voice and Solo Organ Recital of works by Handel, Bach, Puccini, Franck and Gounod. Not to miss: Gerald Barry’s The Importance of Being Earnest will make its U.S. stage premiere as part of the Major New Opera Initiative in collaboration with the New York Philharmonic.
