Earlier this week, Korean Air celebrated the 30th anniversary of its first-ever service to Canada.
The airline celebrated the occasion by posting officials in Toronto (YYZ) and Vancouver (YVR), the cities where Korean Air first conducted scheduled flights, and with chocolate bars. The 30th passenger to board each flight in the cities received a complimentary, round-trip flight between Incheon (INC) and Canada.
Korean Air’s first scheduled flights to Canada commenced Nov. 2, 1988, with the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 passenger jetliner flying the Incheon–Toronto–Vancouver route twice weekly. The route split in 1995, with Toronto and Vancouver each getting routes from Incheon.
Korean Air operates daily flights to Toronto and flies to Vancouver five times every week.
