The Carlyle – Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C., will be converted to a Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants-branded property this month. Located in the city’s Glover Park neighborhood just two and a half blocks northeast of Dupont Circle, the hotel is undergoing extensive renovations of the public spaces, restaurant and guestrooms to fit the Kimpton style and standards of boutique service. Following completion of the refurbishment project, the hotel will offer 198 guestrooms, including 56 with full-service, state-of-the-art kitchenettes.

The hotel partnered with world-renowned artist Michele Oka Doner to feature an interior design boasting inspired modern artwork and handcrafted chandeliers customized to highlight The Carlyle’s history. The hotel will also debut a membership-quality fitness center, the Washington’s Urban Athletic Club, and 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting space when it reopens in May 2015 as a Kimpton hotel. The Carlyle will also add a restaurant by renowned chef Michael Schlow this summer called The Riggsby, focusing on American dishes with European influences.
