Travelers who tote man´s best friend on their next vacation will appreciate a recent development at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. JFK Airport, with one of the worst reputations in the nation, just opened a pet relief area within the airport´s walls so owners no longer need to leave the airport´s premises when Fido needs to relieve himself. Located in Terminal 4, green turf covers 70 square feet kept clean by the provided doggie bags and a hose pet owners can use to spray the area after their dogs do their duty. With the implementation of the pet relief area, JFK joins other national airports that have the same facilities including Washington Dulles International Airport and Chicago O´Hare International Airport. Recent federal regulations mandated all airports that accommodate more than 10,000 travelers per year install such areas in their airports so guide animals, emotional support animals and passengers´ pets can find relief after hours of work or travel.
