The dormant TWA terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport is set to be developed as the first hotel on JFK property by JetBlue. The carrier is partnering with MCR Development to turn the TWA Flight Center into a hotel complex. The Port Authority’s Board of Commissioners approved the $265 million construction project, expected to break ground on a nearly six-acre site next year and open in 2018. The hotel will offer 505 guestrooms, a variety of food and beverage venues, a spa, ample meeting space and a 10,000-square-foot observation deck.
“The new hotel will serve the growing needs of our passengers throughout the 21st century, with a touch of the bygone era of glamorous mid-20th-century jet-age travel,” said Pat Foye, executive director, Port Authority.
