Travellers flying Japan Airlines need to start arriving a few minutes earlier.
Tourism and overall travel to Japan is expected to surge in 2020 with the arrival of the Olympic games. In order to cope with the increased traffic, Japan Airlines Group is instituting a new policy to ease travellers’ concerns.
Previously, passengers were required to arrive at the security checkpoint at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time of departure. The new rules lengthen that requirement to 20 minutes. The regulation is valid for all flights departing from domestic Japanese airports.
All passengers booking accommodations online will receive a notice alerting them to the change.
