In Israel’s Golan Heights, the tradition of wine production is age old. The cool, high-altitude climate and topography of volcanic basaltic soils combine to create ideal growing terroir and flavorful wines. At Golan Heights Winery, a team of experienced vintners oversees 28 separate vineyards spread across 1,500 acres of land to create entirely kosher wines. Since their first Yarden Sauvignon Blanc was released in 1983, the winery has been the recipient of numerous awards from prestigious events including the annual International Wine and Spirit Competition, International Wine Challenge, Citadelles du Vin, World Wine Championship and Citadelles du Vin.

Stop in at the Visitor’s Center (or make advance arrangements prior to your travel to Israel) for an hour-long guided tour and wine tasting. Other options include a two-hour Premium Visit with a gourmet meal and a tasting of premium wines in the VIP room or wine cellar; a Professional Wine-Tasting Visit, with a tour of the production process, a visit to the oak barrel cellar and a tasting of multiple wines; and a two-hour Vineyard Tour in an all-terrain vehicle, followed by a tasting. Tours are available in Hebrew, English, Russian, German and Swedish. The Visitor’s Center is open daily with the exception of Saturdays, memorial days and Jewish holidays.
