The Caribbean rebounds from its trying weather, and the islands of Antigua and Barbuda have a number of upcoming festivals and events perfect for a winter, spring or summer visit. Fancy some cricket action? The Super50 Cricket Festival continues until Feb. 24, with world-class competitors vying for wins in a relaxed setting. Matches include plenty of entertainment and West Indies foods.

Feb. 17, the Rohrman Triathlon race gets underway, followed by the Antigua and Barbuda International Kite Festival April 2. The colorful kite-flying event takes place at Devil’s Bridge National Park. Antigua Sailing Week, April 28–May 4, ranks as one of the world’s most celebrated sailing regattas. Competitive yacht racing takes place in Antigua’s challenging south coast waters. The event and related activities are headquartered at Nelson’s Dockyard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

June 29–July 1, the Antigua and Barbuda Mango Culinary Competition invites professional chefs to create culinary masterpieces with mangos from Christian Valley and Antigua Black Pineapples from Cades Bay. Fruit-centric fun continues July 8–9, when the Antigua Mango Festival unfolds at the Botanical Gardens. The summer wraps up with the music- and food-infused Antigua Carnival July 27–August 7.
