InterContinental Ljubljana, in Slovenia’s capital, opened its doors last week. The modern build is conveniently located near the city’s top tourist spots, such as Ljubljana Castle, Park Tivoli and the Ljubljanica River.

The property offers 165 guestrooms, including 15 suites, many with panoramic views. The interior is a mix of modern aesthetic and Slovenian culture, which derives from its neighbors, Austria, Italy and Croatia.

The on-site restaurant is simply known as B, an homage to the Slovenian Carniolan honey bee. Michelin-starred chef Alfredo Russo is at the restaurant’s helm. B sits on the 20th floor, with an open kitchen and outdoor terrace with unbeatable views of both Ljubljana’s old town and the Alps. The menu is a mix of Italian and Slovenian cuisines, featuring fresh and local ingredients, including many vegetarian options and seafood.

Other hotel features include a bar, patisserie, spa, indoor swimming pool, fitness center, lounge and meeting space for 300.
