In-flight WiFi provider Gogo forecasted its airplane WiFi service will achieve broadband-like speeds within five years. The company detailed predictions for its in-flight service in a presentation to investors recently, announcing the service offered on the majority of U.S. domestic flights will soon become dramatically faster with speeds 10 times faster than today. The company said the transition to faster service will occur as it switches to satellite antennas and gets rid of its old air-to-ground technology. This transition should occur in the next five to 10 years.
