InterContinental Hotels Group opened its first voco-branded property in Montenegro last month. The property, voco Podgorica, offers more than 80 guestrooms and a modern, stylish stay near Skadar Lake National Park right outside the capital city. Each guest enjoys the signature voco warm welcome, a locally inspired welcome snack (in this case, a traditional nut cake), locally inspired décor and artwork, bedding made from recycled materials and fast WiFi.

The property’s amenities include a restaurant and lobby bar, large pool, wellness and spa club, fitness center, three meeting rooms and more. Guests have access to resident experts and event planners to assist in planning both leisure and business activities. Sustainable initiatives at the hotel beyond bedding made from recycled materials include bulk-sized toiletries in guest bathrooms, glass water bottles in guestrooms and aerated showerheads to reduce water usage.
