Hyatt Hotels Corp. announced the return of Hyatt to Guadalajara after a more than 17-year absence with plans to open a Hyatt Regency hotel in the upscale area of Zapopan in the northwestern section of the city. Slated to open in late 2016, Hyatt Regency Andares Guadalajara will feature 220 guestrooms and suites and will be part of the Andares Shopping Mall, a mixed-use complex with high-end retail stores, two office towers and luxury condominiums. It will offer guests two restaurants, a lounge, spa facilities, a fitness center, an indoor pool and approximately 29,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel will become the fifth Hyatt Regency-branded property in Mexico, joining locations in Mexico City, Merida, Villahermosa and Cancun.
