Have you ever wanted to visit a nearby resort and take advantage of its luxurious services without booking a room? A growing trend among luxury hotels and resorts might interest you.

The service goes by several different names and prices, depending where it is offered. Through ResortPass, DayPass and more, hotels offer more ways for visitors to access luxury amenities without staying at the hotel.

The movement has been growing for several years. ResortPass launched in May  2016. In the succeeding years, more and more hotels joined it and other programs. ResortPass alone offers passes to Hyatt, Westin, Marriott, Four Seasons, The Ritz-Carlton and more.

Depending on the date, location and property in question, passes can be as cheap as $15 each day per person. Whether the passes are an excuse to relax in luxury for a day in your hometown or a way to spend a piece of the weekend on a business trip, waves of new hotels and resorts joining the trend opens up options for locals, travelers and operators. ResortPass alone features more than 150 properties.

In an interview with USA Today, Amanda Szabo, founder and CEO, ResortPass, said the passes are most popular with locals, but people traveling with Airbnb are beginning to use the service more.

Daycation is another day pass service that works through an app visitors can use to reserve amenities from a list of curated properties on the go.

“Whether you’re a local that wants to unlock access to a cool hotel around the corner or you’re just visiting the city looking to relax, we’ve got you covered. Since its inception Daycation has been focused on creating social and relaxing atmospheres for our guests around the globe,” according to Daycation’s about page.

Is this the first you have heard of day passes to hotel amenities? Will you consider purchasing a pass in your future travels? Tell us. Email us at [email protected]. Please include your full name and location.
