Hong Kong Airlines recently launched its first service in the continental United States with an inaugural flight to Los Angeles (LAX), with San Francisco (SFO) and New York (JFK) to follow.
This follows the launch of a daily service to Vancouver (YVR) in June — its first flight to North America.
“Following the success of the Vancouver route, we are excited to set up the first destination in the continental United States to further expand our international network. The launch of the Los Angeles route will strengthen the connection with our well-developed Asia Pacific network, thus providing more travel options for business, leisure, academic or family travelers,” said Li Dianchun, chief commercial officer, Hong Kong Airlines.
An Airbus A350-900 operates the service, equipped with the newest version of seats in all cabins and modern amenities including 15 minutes of free WiFi, an in-flight entertainment system and newly designed tableware in business and economy classes.
The airline currently has three A350-900s in service, with plans to purchase or lease 15 more.
The San Francisco service launches March 25, with New York to follow in later 2018.
