When visitors of Hipmunk’s website enter a specific travel plan, they can compare times, routes and airlines, while also seeing information about add-on services such as baggage fees, seat assignment fees and whether WiFi connectivity is available on board.

Another new feature of the site is its capability to calculate the possible total number of frequent-flyer miles or points a traveler could potentially receive if booking a specific fare. Hipmunk pulls most of this new information from two outside flight tracking providers: Routehappy and 30K.
