In a bold new move, Hilton is redefining what loyalty means for its more than 60 million members. The company announced updates to the program intended to make it more flexible, valuable and useful.
In the process of redefining the program, Hilton will debut with a new name and a new logo. The program will simply be called Hilton Honors, as opposed to Hilton HHonors, a simpler, more straightforward name that emphasizes the Hilton brand. The new logo was also designed to be in sync with the iconic Hilton legacy.
Over the course of the year, Hilton will unveil pieces of its new, highly anticipated loyalty program, beginning with its Points & Money feature toward the end of February. This new flexible points and money feature will allow members to choose how they want to pay for their room using any combination of Hilton Honors points and money through a convenient slider function in the Hilton Honors app.
Hilton also announced a new partnership with Amazon, which will allow members to shop on Amazon.com with Hilton Honors points. A Points Pooling feature will follow, allowing members to pool points with up to 10 friends and family members at no cost, so reward nights can be earned more quickly.
The new Hilton Honors program will offer the same great perks as the retired loyalty program, such as free WiFi, the ability to book a reward night with no blackout dates on reward stays when rooms are available, digital check-in with room selection and digital keys via the Hilton Honors app.
The new program will also let Diamond status members hold onto the status longer, without having to worry about losing it due to lack of travel plans.
More than 55 percent of Hilton guests are Honors members with more than 9 million new members in 2016 alone. Hilton Honors members have a lot to look forward to in the coming months, as the industry-leading hotel company strives to offer more to its loyal customers.
