The Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa reopens in March as the Conrad Bora Bora Nui. The 115-room property is located on an islet accessible via a 20-minute boat ride from Bora Bora Airport (BOB).

“Conrad now features 26 destinations globally, and with this exciting expansion into the South Pacific we fully expect the brand to resonate strongly with smart luxury travellers to the region,” said John Vanderslice, global head, Conrad Hotels & Resorts. “Guests of Conrad Bora Bora Nui can look forward to our inspired experiences, which will marry Tahitian culture and charm with Conrad’s intuitive, discrete and seamless service.”

Guests can choose from 29 tropical garden and beach villas or 86 overwater bungalows, including a double-storey presidential suite. Activities include sea sports, coral reef diving and hiking. The resort boasts a full-service spa with eight treatment rooms, a kids club, miniature golf course, fitness centre, shopping, meeting space and event venues. Dining options include a French brasserie, a specialty beach restaurant, Chinese restaurant and an overwater bar and lounge.

“We are delighted to continue our relationship with Hilton Worldwide and bring the Conrad brand to the South Pacific with the debut of Conrad Bora Bora Nui. With our magical location in Bora Bora and the Conrad brand’s modern approach to luxury, we look forward to offering our guests a truly exceptional stay in French Polynesia,” said Louis Wane, owner, Conrad Bora Bora Nui.

High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.

New York City’s Penn Station to Undergo Massive Redevelopment

There are few commuters, residents and tourists who have visited New York City and never included Pennsylvania Station in their travel plans. The city’s Penn Station opened in 1910 as a Beaux-Arts masterpiece designed by McKim, Mead & White, modeled after the Roman Baths of Caracalla from the third century A.D. Of course, there was no resemblance.
