Hilton Worldwide announced the expansion of its portfolio in Africa with plans to open a new property in Lagos, the commercial and cultural capital of Nigeria. The hotel group signed an agreement with longstanding Nigeria business partner Transcorp Hotels Ltd. to open Transcorp Hilton Lagos on Glover Road in the residential and commercial district of Ikoyi near Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) in mid-2016. The hotel will feature 350 guestrooms and suites, a fitness center, a spa, a swimming pool, a business center, two restaurants, two bars and meeting and event space. The new property will become Hilton’s second property in Nigeria with Transcorp, joining Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja, situated in the heart of Nigeria’s Federal Capital 40 minutes from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (ABV). “Thanks to the popularity and profile of our hotel in Abuja, Hilton Hotels & Resorts is already a celebrated hospitality brand across Nigeria’s domestic and international communities.
