Hilton begins a pilot test of its new robot concierge, named Connie after Conrad Hilton, this month. Using information from Watson and WayBlazer, Connie can inform guests on nearby attractions and restaurants. Connie will work alongside Hilton’s human staff at the Hilton McLean in Virginia.
As Connie is the first IBM-developed, Watson-enabled robot in the hospitality industry, the pilot is enabling it to learn how to interact with guests as it greets them upon arrival and answers their questions about both the hotel and the area. The more guests that interact with Connie, the more Connie learns, helping to improve the service.

By tapping into innovative partners like IBM Watson, we’re wowing our guests in the most unpredictable ways,” said Jonathan Wilson, vice president, product innovation and brand services, Hilton Worldwide.
