At the newly launched Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel, a special Haute Handbag and Hotel getaway includes a night in the property’s magnificent Empire Suite, plus an atelier tour and personal consultation with renowned handbag designer Anthony Luciano. Luciano, whose fashion design degree was earned at the Fashion Institute of Technology, collects vintage handbag clasps, rare vintage frames and unique adornments from around the world, then crafts bespoke handbags for women and men that rank as portable works of art.

The city escape also includes dinner for two with Luciano in the hotel’s gastro-pub Rock & Reilly’s, lobster benedict for two prepared en suite by the hotel’s chef and arrival welcome amenities of a bottle of Charles Heidsieck Champagne and Sterling Caviar. While the cost of a handbag (beginning at $1,500) is not included, Luciano will work closely with interested guests to design a custom bag for purchase. Prices for the night’s stay begin at $3,499, per night, excluding alcohol and gratuities and based on double occupancy. The hotel is located on 35^th Street between Seventh and Eight Avenues close to Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.
