In October 2022, Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, an enormous boost to the cultural, economic, social and artistic life of this Spanish city and its surroundings, will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year. For the anniversary year, the museum unveiled the new slogan “Art Inspires Future,” as well as a special edition of its logo, which it will use throughout this year. The special logo will feature the characteristic G’s of the Guggenheim brand moving like gears to shape the number 25.

The Museum designed several appealing exhibition programs targeted to a diverse audience. The presentations that kicked off the 25th anniversary began in February 2022, with From Fauvism to Surrealism: Masterpieces from the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris and the retrospective devoted to Jean Dubuffet: Ardent Celebration (now through Aug. 21). Other major exhibitions are set to come this spring and summer (now through May 22).

The Motion, Autos, Art, Architecture exhibition will open April 8, and run through Sept. 18. In the fall, the entire Museum will “dress up” for its birthday with works from the Museum Collection. The Museum Collection contains artwork the museum has been acquiring from its inception 25 years ago when the Guggenheim Museum became an icon of Bilbao and the entire Basque region, as well as a source of pride for its residents.
