American Airlines is bringing back complimentary main cabin meals for passengers on select transcontinental flights.
The new meal service begins May 1 and will be offered on flights between New York (JFK) And Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO).
Depending on the time of day, main cabin passengers will be offered a continental breakfast or a boxed meal with a sandwich wrap, bag of potato chips and a dessert. A vegetarian option and a fruit and cheese plate will also be available.
Last month, Delta Air Lines announced that by April 24 it would be offering complimentary main cabin meals in 12 major markets, so perhaps we’re on the leading edge of a trend.
