Daily

Four Seasons recently announced the opening of its first private island and the only private hospitality destination located within a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Scheduled to open late 2016, Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah, Baa Atoll, will offer seven bedrooms, a beach house, dive center, spa and 62-foot yacht on five acres of paradise suitable for up to 22 guests. “Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah will redefine exclusive luxury, opening as a tropical haven for those who seek an unprecedented experience of private luxury alongside Four Seasons legendary service. As the latest addition to our Extraordinary Experiences collection, the island speaks to the company’s commitment to perfecting the guest experience and our ability to re-imagine the limits of luxury travel in creative and innovative ways. It’s just one of the many ways we’re constantly evolving our offerings to deliver the kind of memorable, fully-customized and exclusive experiences our guests want and value,” said Mike Crawford, president, Asia Pacific. The beach house includes an open-air living space, dining room, kitchen, pool deck, fitness center, library, lounge and seven bedrooms in three locations — the beach, over the lagoon or within elevated suites. Guests can choose to dine almost anywhere on the island and the spa offers bespoke treatments, yoga classes, beauty treatments and hair consultations. Experiences open to guests focus on features exclusive to the UNESCO site, from diving with whale sharks and snorkeling with manta rays, and dedicated teams are available to guide visitors of all ages on environmental- and conservation-focused outings. Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah, Baa Atoll, is only 40 minutes from Malé International Airport via seaplane. Newsletter sign-up

High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture

Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.

Why Japan Is Best Explored by Sea with Princess

Japan is a destination that rewards repeat visits because no two regions — or seasons —  feel quite the same. One moment, you’re wandering through centuries-old geisha districts in Kanazawa. The next, you’re watching neon reflections dance across Tokyo streets long after midnight.
