Flybe, the largest independent regional airline in Europe, confirmed it will launch its first services from London Heathrow, and will include two new routes to Aberdeen (ABZ) and Edinburgh (EDI).

The carrier’s Heathrow services will operate from Terminal 2 and Flybe will aim to capture a share of the transfer market to and from the airport with its “One Stop to the World” connectivity. The initiative includes a codeshare with partners Virgin Atlantic Airways and Singapore Airlines.

“We are delighted to announce our first flights to London Heathrow, significantly enhancing our UK domestic route network and offering even better links between Scotland and London,” said Simon Laffin, executive chairman, Flybe. “The new routes to Heathrow complement the existing ones we operate to London City and will benefit our business customers and customers in Scotland who want to connect with our long-haul codeshare partners.”

Flights will begin service March 26, with fares from $48 one-way. Flybe will be offering a choice of 40 scheduled flights per week from Aberdeen and Edinburgh that complement the airline’s already well-established London City (LCY) flights from the Scottish airports. With the new services, the airline will operate up to 18 flights per day between London and Edinburgh and 10 between London and Aberdeen.
