Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and White Lodging recently broke ground for San Antonio’s first Kimpton Hotel. Slated to open in late 2024, the 10-story hotel will lie in downtown San Antonio. With 347 rooms, a high-end restaurant and lobby bar, Kimpton San Antonio will set a new standard in Texas hospitality.

“We’ve seen tremendous success in our sister properties in Texas – in Austin, Fort Worth and Dallas,” said Jeremy Wilhide, area director, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. “This state has a wonderful sense of hospitality so coming to San Antonio made all the sense in the world.”

In addition to luxury guest rooms and suites, the new hotel will also feature a rooftop pool and lounge and more than 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. The building blends new construction with restoration of an 1850s schoolhouse. Within the former school’s courtyard, 100-year-old trees will be incorporated into the plans for the new hotel. Kimpton San Antonio’s prime location will allow guests to easily access Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, River Walk, Alamo Plaza Historic District, Southtown, La Villita and Hemisfair.
