Hyatt, in conjunction with Eosh Properties, announced Malaysia’s first Hyatt Place-branded property. The hotel is set to open in 2019 in Melaka Gateway, a mixed-use project currently under development.
“Hyatt Place Melaka Gateway will be the first Hyatt Place hotel in Malaysia, and we are delighted to work with KAJ Development to introduce the brand to the country. The opening of this hotel will mark a significant milestone for Hyatt as the Hyatt Place brand continues to expand worldwide and offer more choices to our guests in key gateway cities,” said David Udell, group president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
The Hyatt Place Melaka Gateway offers views of the Strait of Melaka, as well as a convenient location near the Hatten Square shopping district and historic attractions, such as Dutch Square. Amenities include more than 250 square metres of meeting and event space, a rooftop swimming pool and poolside bar with ocean views. Hyatt Place properties generally boast a casual design, with modern and high-tech features.
The Melaka Gateway mixed-use development is made up of three reclaimed islands on the western coast of Malacca City. The development is not fully complete until 2025, if all stays on schedule. The development includes not only multiple hotels, but also office towers, residential space, a convention center, shopping, a Ferris wheel, lighthouse and the largest cruise terminal in Asia.
