Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski Dominica is slated to open its doors Oct. 14, as the first 5-star resort in Dominica. The second Kempinski property in the Caribbean, the resort sits amid Cabrits National Park and promises a serene getaway on the nature-heavy island that sees relatively few tourists through the year.

The property’s design for its more than 150 guestrooms and suites channels Dominica’s natural wonders, with coastal colors, wood accents, natural lighting and views of the rainforest, mountains and ocean. Two-bedroom duplexes and villas are also available; the presidential villa offers two bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a dining room, a private spa room, a sauna, an oversized terrace, a private pool and a private entrance.

Three restaurants offer menus inspired by local ingredients. Cabrits Market provides resort-style buffet stations, the Kweyol Beach Cafe is a Creole beach bar and Bonsai serves Pan-Asian cuisine.

An 18,000-square-foot spa provides a range of treatments incorporating local culture.
