Three mixology events came to Alchemia bar at Cà di Dio Hotel in Venice this summer in a series known as Cin, featuring Marco Vecchiato, head barman, Alchemia, chatting with Italian VIP mixologists in the hotel’s interior courtyard. The conversations focused on iconic cocktails from individual bars and those in attendance enjoyed cocktails specially created for these evenings.

It began June 29 with a Florence meets Venice event with Matteo Sanago from Eye Cocktail Bar and one of his signature drinks, the San Marco, with notes of pink grapefruit and raspberry. On July 13, mixologist Patrick Pistolesi of Rome’s Drink Kong joined Vecchiato, serving a Canova, a Mediterranean version of the gimlet. On Aug. 3, this summer’s series wrapped up with a guest from Rita’s Tiki Room in Milan, founded in 2019 and serving cocktails made with tropical fruit, spices, rum, tequila, gin and bourbon from around the world. At the final installment, the Patchouli Mulata Daiquiri was served, featuring Cuban rum infused with patchouli, bourbon, cocoa liqueur, vanilla liqueur and lime juice.

Cà di Dio Hotel is part of V Retreats, a new hotel brand from VOIhotels and dedicated to lovers of Italian art, history and culture. V Retreats includes eight properties, with the aim to have 12 boutique hotels in three years in iconic Italian locations.
