The Santa Monica, California-based Movember, established in 2003, gained national attention with a unique campaign that involved growing moustaches during November and spreading word about mental health and men’s cancer concerns. The organization’s overriding message (“Guys should feel good, do good, and look good in November, all for the sake of men’s health”) is in line with the way more spas and salons are providing bespoke services for men and their specific wellness concerns.

Though a guy’s getaway — solo or with friends — is beneficial no matter when you plan it, the following spas (though not affiliated with Movember) offer inventive packages and treatments that embody the spirit of Movember’s mission.

We Do Men: The Spa, Scottsdale, Arizona
Founder Stacey Grondahl made it her mission to rid the spa industry of its taboos and stereotypes by founding a spa specifically for men. Her treatments include the What a Prick signature treatment using Scottsdale’s cacti and expert massage techniques and The Sake Bomb peel treatment using Japanese sake for anti-aging and glowing skin. The Premature Browtender treatment helps neutralize sun damage and inflammation and top off the skin with a layer of sunscreen for healing and restoration, followed by complimentary eyebrow, nose and ear grooming. LED light treatments are often used during various treatments to heal acne, aging, body aches and pains.

Eau Spa at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, Palm Beach, Florida

The 42,000-square-foot Eau Spa provides a vast array of men-focused treatments, men’s manicures and pedicures, and gentleman’s waxing. The Father Nature pack experience starts with a paraben-free redflower scrub; followed by a 15-minute neroli cypress soak; 60-minute redflower massage; and a 60-minute Beau Natural Facial using organic, sustainable and green luxury products. The four-hour Golf’s Greatest Grooming and Massage incorporates a refining back polish; 90-minute muscle melter massage; manicure or pedicure with a facial treatment and scalp massage; haircut; and optional ear, eyebrow and nose waxing.

The Chuan Spa, The Langham, Chicago, Illinois

Treatments at The Chuan Spa pay homage to Traditional Chinese Medicine. The tranquil oasis features three unique offerings designed specifically for men, including The Chuan Man’s World, combining a soothing exfoliation, a relaxing massage and a facial cleanse, suited for a man’s complexion; and The Chuan Man Maintenance Facial, a deep-cleansing treatment addressing skin sensitivity and razor burn along with a relaxing massage and purifying mask, replenishing the skin and refining the pores.

Viceroy Los Cabos’ “Man Cave” Treatments, San Jose del Cabo, Mexico

The signature Male Facial, either 60 or 90 minutes, rebalances the skin with a customized facial prescription made with natural ingredients selected according to guest’s skin condition and concerns, whether it be deep purification, intense hydration or a soothing remedy. The 75-minute Muscle Release Massage restores equilibrium and promotes deep relaxation through variations of deep muscle tension release and reflexology points. Guests have the option to request specific areas or choose a full-body approach.
