Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is growing its portfolio of luxury hotels in Europe with the acquisition of the 432-room Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona. Fairmont will rebrand the hotel Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I this autumn and is planning a significant renovation for the property starting in 2015. Located on Barcelona’s main avenue, Avenida Diagonal, the hotel offers an extensive variety of amenities, including dining venues, large banquet and meeting space, a fitness center and a spa with both indoor and outdoor pools and 13 treatment rooms.
