New on the scene in dynamic Manhattan, Faena New York is officially open for business. Located at 500 West 18th St. overlooking the High Line, the hotel offers 120 guestrooms and suites in a structure once home to Bjarke Ingels Group. Joining the portfolio’s Buenos Aires and Miami beach properties, the new hotel was conceived by brand founder Alan Faena.
“New York City has historically been the center of innovation, creativity and pushing boundaries. Faena embraces and amplifies that spirit,” said Faena, “offering a touch of magic that honors and contributes to the vibrant legacy of New York.”
Spaces include The Living Room, Faena Theater, Tierra Santa Healing House and an open-air plaza. The operating philosophy revolves around a blend of cultural immersion and community.
In the lobby, guests are greeted by Argentine artist Diego Gravinese’s colossal site-specific work The Sefirotic Journey. Part of the Faena Art initiative, this work is an example of how art may serve as a cultural experience. Moving forward, Faena Art will host art installations, live performances and site-specific commissions open to the public in The Plaza.
The Living Room, on the second floor, operates as the property’s social nucleus. Boasting original murals by artist Juan Gatti, there’s a Deco-style bar at each end, and 134 seats to choose from in a space that features nooks for intimate conversations, cocktail tables and luxuriously upholstered lounge areas. Also on the second floor is El Secreto, a speakeasy-like salon hidden behind an unmarked door.
Private gatherings can be booked at La Cava, and live performances can be enjoyed at La Boca, where Buenos Aires-inspired menus of traditional asado cuisine are under the direction of celebrity Chef Francis Mallmann.
Later this year, the highly anticipated Tierra Santa Healing House will open. This 12,000-square-foot wellness sanctuary will offer five water features, a hammam, 11 treatment rooms, an infrared sauna, fitness and movement studios, and an expansive menu of traditional South American treatments and therapies.
Coming in spring of 2026, the property will open Faena Theater, a gilded space providing cabaret performances and artwork by Andres Resinger.

Jul 8, 2026Review: Hartwell House
In the library of Hartwell House, I checked the latest weather forecast on my phone. Most immediately, I made sure we had time for a walk in the 90 acres of gardens before the arrival of thunderstorms. I was also monitoring the next day’s weather, which was expected to break the highest ever June temperature in England. Through my smartphone, I benefited from a science that began, in its modern form, in that very room. There, in 1850, the Royal Meteorological Society was founded.
