In honor of the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death on April 8, luxury travel provider Zicasso invites travelers to discover the influential life of one of the world’s most renowned artists. On the 12-day Through the Eyes of Picasso: Highlights of the Artistic Spain tour, guests have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Picasso, from his birthplace in Malaga to his time in Galicia, Madrid, Barcelona and Mallorca. The customizable itinerary allows guests to go behind the scenes of famous museums, see works of art never before displayed and participate in a painting class to create their own masterpieces.
Other highlights from the trip include:
- Visiting Picasso’s childhood home in Malaga
- Going behind the scenes of two notable museums: Picasso Museum of Malaga and Picasso Museum in Barcelona
- Witnessing the impressive design of Guernica, one of Picasso’s most notable works, in Reina Sofia Museum
- Enjoying panoramic views of the Galician coastline during a boat tour, mirroring Picasso’s own childhood journey from Malaga to Galicia
- Crafting your own work of art inspired by Picasso’s techniques and artistic style
The tour includes private transfers, accommodation and breakfast. Optional excursions, such as a two-night extension to Mallorca, can be added for an additional cost. Meals, flights and trains not mentioned in the itinerary are not included but can be added and customized per customer.
Additionally, the tour offers guests the option to take a hike in the mountains outside of Madrid to walk the trails and view bunkers and remaining artifacts from the Spanish Civil War. Guests also have the chance to explore the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona on a Civil War-focused tour to learn how the battles affected the neighborhoods.
Zicasso’s 12-day Through the Eyes of Picasso: Highlights of Artistic Spain tour starts at $4,999 per person for two adults, staying in standard double rooms at 4-star hotels.

Mar 28, 2024Cruise Lines Elevate the Onboard Fine-Dining Experience
It’s been a long time since the food on cruise ships resembled the bland, uninspired fare that gave onboard dining a bad name. These days, cruise passengers can look forward to menus created by Michelin-starred chefs made with top-quality ingredients served in stunning spaces. Choices abound as well. In addition to elegant main dining rooms, cruise ships have created a huge array of specialty restaurants that focus not only on perfectly executed traditional European and North American dishes but flavors and experiences from around the globe as well. In fact, meals served aboard cruise vessels have gotten so good, they’re drawing passengers onto ships: According to a recent report by luxury travel planning network Virtuoso, advisors report after Europe (specifically Italy and France), the No. 2 dining destination for travelers is aboard an ocean or river cruise. “This shows how cruise lines have really stepped up their culinary game, with consulting chefs and new restaurants and making that a focal point,” said Misty Belles, vice president, Global Public Relations, Virtuoso.
