Etihad Airways will increase its service between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Munich (MUN) from seven flights a week to twice daily in order to cater to growing demand for one of the airline’s most successful destinations in Europe. Like the existing daily service, the new flights will be operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft, featuring eight seats in first class, 32 in business and 191 in economy. “This doubling of capacity is about serving the growing bi-directional demand, adding depth and scale to our German operations, and facilitating better connections with equity partner airberlin,” said James Hogan, president and CEO of Etihad Airways. With the additional flights, Etihad and airberlin will offer a combined total of 49 weekly services from four cities in Germany, including Munich, Frankfurt (FRA), Berlin (TXL) and Düsseldorf (DUS).
