Continuing its role as flying ambassador for Belgium, Brussels Airlines partnered with Michelin-starred Chef Peter Goossens from the country’s renowned Hof van Cleve restaurant to offer premium passengers new gourmet meals.

From December, passengers flying intercontinental flights to the United States and Africa in the carrier’s business class are treated to six different menus showcasing the best of Belgian gastronomy. Goossens primarily selected seasonal and regional products to offer a Belgian touch.

“We have strived to come up with menus that evoke the restaurant experience at 30,000 feet in the air. It wasn’t an easy task, since there are many restrictions for plane meals, but I’m proud of the result. It was a unique experience to work with Brussels Airlines on this project and I look forward to the reactions of their guests on board,” said Chef Goossens.

To serve with his menus, Chef Goossens selected six beers from the region, including Steenuilke from Brouweij De Ryck and Malheur from Brouweij De Landtsheer.

We want to offer our Business Class guests a premium experience and show our Belgian identity at the same time. Peter’s menus are a perfect way to show the best that Belgian gastronomy has to offer,” said Anne Tricot, vice president customer experience, Brussels Airlines.
